Hi,

I have a question regarding the conversion of failure rates in calendar hours to operating hours. The methodology handbook states quite clearly,

The reason is that for the 20% duty cycle case, you are condensing the non-operating failure contribution into a much smaller window of operating time, thus the higher operating failure rate.
