Your information about reliability prediction, especially the 217plus in your Homepage is of great interest to me.
I wish to know the relationship between MIL-HDBK-217F/N2 and the 217plus in detail.
The current status of MIL-HDBK-217F/N2 is “active (or current)”,
not “cancelled”, as shows on Defense Standardization Program Office Homepage. Your Homepage, however, indicates that this Handbook was abandoned by the Government in 1995, so that commercial standard, i.e. the RIAC 217plus, has replaced it.
As mentioned above, both statements are not consistent with each other. Could you explain waht “abandoned by the Government” exactly means?
And, if a written information to officially mention that MIL-HDBK-217F/N2 was superseded by RAC PRISM or RIAC 217plus is avaiable, could a copy of that document be provided?
I look forward to your clear response. Thank you!
