Quanterion’s 3-day Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) Training Course has been developed as the logical sequel to its 1-day Introduction to RCM Course. This longer course offers detailed insight into the requirements and approaches defined in the Society of Automotive Engineer (SAE) International Surface Vehicle/Aerospace Standard JA1011 (August 2009) “Evaluation Criteria for Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) Processes”, SAE International Surface Vehicle/Aerospace Recommended Practice JA1012 (August 2011) “A Guide to the Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) Standard”, the Second Edition of John Moubray’s definitive textbook “Reliability-Centered Maintenance RCM II” (1997) and NAVAIR 00-25-403, “Guidelines for the Naval Aviation Reliability-Centered Maintenance Process” (2005).

Course Description

The course covers a brief introduction to the concepts and terminology used in RCM, then expands into the detailed processes associated with RCM planning and analysis, RCM implementation/task packaging and RCM sustainment activities. The highlights of the course include an in-class Course Project and numerous exercises that reinforce the knowledge gained throughout the course.

Who Should Take the Course

Individuals who need to be able to understand and apply RCM principles and activities as they relate to the development and implementation of cost-optimized maintenance and Asset Management strategies. Design engineers, reliability engineers, logistics specialists and maintenance personnel will benefit from the course.

What the Student Will Learn

The student will gain an appreciation and understanding of the principles and activities of RCM as described in SAE JA1011, SAE JA1012, John Moubray’s RCM II publication and NAVAIR 00-25-403. The student will then be able to apply those principles to RCM planning and implementation within their own organization.

Provided Materials

Attendees will receive a copy of the Quanterion Nonelectronic Part Reliability Data (NPRD-2016), Failure Mode/Mechanism Distribution (FMD-2016) Automated Databook, as well as RCM RELease publication.

Required Materials

Attendees are required to bring a laptop computer in order to participate in class exercises.
