Reliability 101: Introduction to Reliability Engineering

Reliability 101 is a foundational course to understanding and implementing basic reliability engineering principles during product design, manufacture, test and field support. This course will develop your reliability knowledge whether you are new to the field or a manager who wants to discover the payoffs of different approaches and techniques.

Design engineers, new reliability specialists, product/program managers, and anyone interested to gain a basic understanding of reliability engineering will benefit from this course.

Reliability 101 is a foundational course to understanding basic reliability engineering principles and how to implement these principles during product design, manufacture, test and field support. This course will develop your reliability knowledge whether you’re new to the field or if you’re a manager who wants to discover the payoffs of different approaches and techniques.

This course will enable you to:

  • Perform basic reliability analyses on your company’s products
  • Understand failure mechanisms and failure modes
  • Apply appropriate practices to different development situations and cost-effectively implement them
  • And more!

Students will also receive a copy of the popular publication titled “System Reliability Toolkit-V” (a $75 value) and a license to Quanterion’s “Automated Reliability Toolkit Professional Edition (QuART-PRO) Software” (a $189 value).

Design engineers, reliability specialists, product/program managers, and anyone interested to gain a basic understanding of reliability engineering will benefit from this course.

If you apply yourself during the three days of this course, you will learn:

  • Basic reliability terminology
  • Differences and similarities between reliability and quality
  • Reliability program concepts
  • The importance of reliability to system and product success
  • Design and analysis methods
  • And more!

Attendees will also discover the basics about the importance of performing reliability analyses and how they apply to product/system design and production.

Weibull Analysis

This three-day course gives a complete overview of Weibull analysis, starting with the basics of performing a Weibull analysis and interpreting the results. The course progresses through more complex applications of Weibull as well as other distributions. Weibull software applications give students hands-on examples of performing analyses and interpreting the results. Class problems round out the in-depth presentation.

If you want to develop your engineering knowledge, learn how to perform real-world life data analyses and applications to products, or simply deepen your understanding of reliability analyses to enrich your technical career, this course is for you.

Weibull analysis is the starting point to problem-solving for most production reliability and maintainability issues. If you are an engineer, manager or engineering student, you will need to understand basic failure distributions, reliability engineering math, analyses, and data comparisons. Quanterion’s Weibull Analysis course will teach you all that and more.

You will become proficient in:

  • Performing a Weibull analysis
  • Interpreting the results
  • Applying the results to real-life situations

Each attendee will receive a free copy of “The SuperSMITH™ Package” – a $960 value – which includes:

  • A copy of The New Weibull Handbook, 5th edition
  • WinSMITH™ Weibull software
  • WinSMITH™ Visual software
  • YBATH software
  • The computer tutorial
  • Classwork and answers
  • And more!

If you apply yourself during the three days of this course, you will learn:

  • The essential methods and techniques of Weibull analysis
  • How to use Weibull analysis software to apply these methods to specific problems
  • How to apply risk forecasting with renewal and optimal component replacement
  • And more!

A Tradition of Excellence in Reliability Training

The open training is provided through Quanterion Solutions’ Reliability, Maintainability and Quality Knowledge Center (RMQSI), which has been educating organizations and individuals in the U.S. and worldwide since the company’s beginning in 2000.

“RMQSI’s training courses were developed by in-house reliability experts with decades of practical experience in reliability engineering,” said Preston MacDiarmid, President of Quanterion Solutions Incorporated. “Our training is sought after by industry, government and academia for its accelerated concepts-to-application approach.”

The training explores common mathematical calculations and statistical techniques used by engineers in their day-to-day work – from calculating failure predictions common in the prototyping lab to analyzing defects in current products on the shop floor.

“Our training minimizes technical jargon to focus on the practical applications of reliability analyses,” said Rich Wisniewski, Senior Reliability Engineer at Quanterion Solutions Incorporated. “After three days of training, attendees will walk away with the ability to identify and perform the various types of reliability assessments applicable for a new product at all life cycle stages – from concept to design to test and finally to field support.”
