As both government and industry continue to implement “green” technology to reduce their carbon footprint, the reliability of these systems is often overshadowed by the energy saving potential of the design. Some of the most prominent examples are the power generating technologies that utilize alternative energy sources (i.e., wind, solar, geothermal). “The Impact of Green Technology on System Reliability”, developed by Quanterion for the DoD’s Reliability Information Analysis Center (RIAC), takes a closer look at the reliability of these systems, addressing recurring failures in particular designs and identifying new and future approaches to mitigate failures and improve reliability.
